Introduction to the job

For ASML, data is an asset from which a lot of value can be generated. ASML has a large and complex variety of data that is generated by our equipment and compute systems. Thisdata needs to be modelled in a controlled and efficient way so it can be used optimally in data science and data analytics use cases.

Do you have a passion for data and for developing advanced solutions to properly model data? Are you eager to learn and further develop yourself in a company that is continuously developing the most advanced machines in the world? Then you may be the person we are looking for!

Vast amounts of data are generated by ASML equipment that is used by our customers in their semiconductor factories. This data is used (by both ASML as well as our customers) for many different use cases, e.g. to diagnose problems with the equipment, to do equipment performance monitoring, to support the maintenance process and to improve equipment performance by creating control loops. Next to that it is also used as input for the development of our next generation of machines.

Since this data represents a lot of value, it is crucial that this data is properly modelled. Using knowledge graph and accompanying techniques we want to ensure the knowledge about our data is properly captured and made accessible for use in data science and data analytics use cases.

Role and responsibilities

As a Knowledge Graph Expert you will work on complex modelling of our data using knowledge graphs and graph databases. You will participate in projects that use data to generate value or solve problems, or work on exploring new ways to generate value from data. You will use graph query languages to support advanced data science challenges. You will closely cooperate with data scientists, domain experts, data engineers and architects.
Over time this role can potentially be expanded towards a Data Scientist role.

You will also pro-actively come up with suggestions for improvements based on feedback from users, architects and domain experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate domain knowledge into knowledge graphs
  • Develop and maintain knowledge graphs and corresponding models
  • Develop knowledge graph queries (using graph query language) to support projects that generate value from data
  • Ensure all modelling is properly documented
  • Proactively define improvement proposals to improve performance, functionality and quality of knowledge graph and knowledge graph queries

Education and experience

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Data science, Computer Science / Engineering, Informatics, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in a similar fiels, experience in machien data is a significant advantage
  • Hands on experience with knowledge graph tools and graph databases, preferably Neo4J
  • Experience with translating domain knowledge in to knowledge graphs
  • Knowledge of Graph Query Languages (e.g., Cypher)
